The Assam State Agricultural Marketing Board is consisting of a chairman and 17 members out of which 10 are non-officials viz. 1 agriculturist member, 1 representative from agriculture farming corporations, 2 progressive producers, 1 licensee, 1 from co-op marketing societies, 1 trader and 3 chairmen from the market committees. Public views and suggestions are also considered while in the process of implementation of developmental activities.
Every market committee consists of 15 members out of which 7 are elected from agriculturists and 3 from traders. The market committees interact with market functionaries and market users in the matters pertaining to functioning of the market committees.
